Sturm coach Christian Ilzer could beckon a top job in Switzerland: The dominant champion Young Boys Bern is apparently fishing for the 43-year-old.
With a 31 point lead (!) Over FC Basel, Young Boys Bern again secured the championship title in Switzerland. Now successful coach Gerardo Seoane is leaving Bern for Bayer Leverkusen.
Sturm coach Christian Ilzer should be on the list of candidates for the successor. That reports the Bernerzeitung. On a list of potential successors, Ilzer is referred to as “the foreigner” who “does an excellent job” and “like Seoane for an offensive and variable football”.
Ilzer would therefore fit into the requirement profile. Ilzer is also looked after by manager Christian Sand – who also advises Adi Hütter, who is known to have excellent contacts in Bern.
Ilzer switched from Wiener Austria to SK Sturm in summer 2020 and led the Styrians to third place and back to Europe.
