World Cup qualification: FC Bayern Munich refuses Lewandowski and Alaba approval

Bayern Munich will not release world footballer Robert Lewandowski for the Polish national team’s World Cup qualifier in England on March 31st.

This confirmed sports director Hasan Salihamidzic with reference to the current quarantine rules. For the same reason, David Alaba will not fly to Scotland (March 25th) with Austria for the qualifying game.

“If it remains that the returnees from England have to be quarantined, we will not be able to turn Lewa off,” said Salihamidzic. In this case, top striker Lewandowski would miss the Bundesliga top game at RB Leipzig on April 3 (27th matchday). Poland previously played in the qualification in Hungary (25.3.) And against Andorra (28th) – Lewandowski would be ready for both matches.

According to Salihamidzic, Alaba is “allowed to travel to the national team a few days later”. After the start in Glasgow, Austria welcomes the Faroe Islands and Denmark at home in Vienna.
