World Cup qualification: Bonds coach Frank De Boer defiant after bankruptcy against Turkey

The Dutch national coach Frank De Boer has announced a quick reaction after the false start in the World Cup qualification in Turkey (2-4 – the highlights in the video). “We think it’s terrible, but I don’t have to cry here, do I?” He said: “We have to do better. First against Latvia, then in Gibraltar.”

After the surprising defeat in Istanbul, the three-time World Cup third, who had already missed the 2018 finals, is immediately under pressure again in Group G. In the next two duels with the blatant outsiders on Saturday in Amsterdam in front of 5000 spectators against Latvia and on Tuesday in Gibraltar six points are firmly planned.

The league leaders of the Oranje relay are Norway after the 3-0 win in Gibraltar (the highlights in the video).

“They are serious opponents – but not one we have to lose to,” said De Boer of Turkey around three-time goalscorer Burak Yilmaz. He doesn’t see any reason to panic: “It’s a very bad result, but it was only the first of ten games. Now we have to make sure that we don’t give away any more points. We have to stay positive, football can go quickly.”
