Vfl Wolfsburg is creating a novelty and will advertise on the jersey of the US club Chattanooga FC in the future. A far-reaching cooperation was also agreed.
In 2017, VfL had already signed a cooperation agreement with the Tennessee club from the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), the third division in US soccer, so to speak. This is now being expanded significantly.
The VfL Wolfsburg logo will appear on the CFC away jerseys in future. The Wolves themselves call this a “globally unprecedented model of shirt sponsorship” in an official statement.
Furthermore, the cooperation concentrates on two further core areas: the development of a women’s team as well as youth work, player development and coach training.
Our logo on the chest of the away jerseys symbolizes the fact that we will increasingly share our values and attitude with the club in the future and not only support it through the transfer of know-how in promoting youth, but also take a holistic approach together whose will also bring women’s football back to Chattanooga, “says VfL Managing Director Michael Meeske in a statement.
The background to all of this is the fact that Chattanooga is home to a VW plant. The special thing about the CFC, as VfL sports director Marcel Schäfer emphasizes, is the fact that the club is “one hundred percent owned by fans” and “therefore has a very special charisma”.
