VfB Stuttgart is setting another course for the coming season on the season’s home stretch. As the Swabians announced on Tuesday, Daniel Didavi’s contract will be extended for another year until 2022.
The 31-year-old has been playing for VfB since 1997 with an interruption of four seasons. In the current season, the midfielder played a total of 25 times for Stuttgart (four goals).
Didavi is “very important to our game,” said sporting director Sven Mislintat: “With his positive and integrative nature, he is not only a very important factor and orientation point on the pitch, but also in the dressing room.” He also wears “the chest ring with great pride”.
Didavi said: “I belong here and I’m very happy about that.” He wanted “to continue trying to give my best possible performance for VfB, to keep the competition and cohesion within the team as high as possible and to support the younger players”.
