President Dirk Zingler of Union Berlin does not fear the departure of trainer Urs Fischer. “I firmly assume that Urs Fischer and I will have a great next season at the Alte Försterei,” said Zingler on Friday.
Fischer came to Berlin in 2018, led Union to the Bundesliga in its first season and is currently fighting for international business.
Last December, the Swiss had extended his contract in Köpenick, the term was not publicly communicated at the time. In the past, Fischer had been traded as a candidate for various clubs. Zingler, meanwhile, once again underlined Fischer’s value for Union. “We are very proud at the club that we employ one of the best coaches in Germany,” he said.
