Tottenham is back after Mourinho expulsion and Super League chaos

Two days after coach Jose Mourinho was kicked out and in the orbit of the Super League chaos, Tottenham Hotspur has reported back in the fight for the Champions League. In the evening, another Super League founder will be guest at Aston Villa in Manchester City (NOW on LIVETICKER).

In the debut of the interim team manager Ryan Mason, the Londoners won 2-1 (0-1) against FC Southampton after three games without a three-pointers and moved up to fourth place as sixth in the table up to two points.

The 29-year-old Mason, who had to end his career in 2018 because of the long-term consequences of a fractured skull, succeeded Mourinho on Tuesday until the end of the season. The Portuguese had been fired the day before because of the ongoing sporting problems and internal quarrels with the team.

Danny Ings (30) brought the Spurs, who had canceled their participation in the Super League on Wednesday night, behind. Gareth Bale (60th) and Heung-Min Son (90th, penalty kick) turned the game around.
