Thomas Tuchel moves into the FA Cup final with Chelsea – Timo Werner provides assist for the winning goal

Thomas Tuchel is reaching for his first title with Chelsea. The team manager moved into the final of the FA Cup with the Blues with a 1-0 (0-0) against the designated English champions Manchester City (the highlights in the video!).

In the duel between the Champions League semi-finalists, national player Timo Werner prepared the winning goal for Hakim Ziyech (55th). Antonio Rüdiger barely allowed the favorites to score with the defense of the Londoners in the still empty Wembley Stadium. For ManCity with Ilkay Gündogan, the first of four title chances in the next six weeks has been missed.

“It was a very strong performance and I’m very proud of my team,” said Tuchel: “We wanted to be courageous with the ball and against the ball. We did that. I’m very happy.”

For the second semi-final on Sunday (7.30 p.m. /DAZN) between Leicester City and Southampton FC are allowed 4,000 spectators for the first time. It is the start of the large-scale pilot project for fan return. In the final on May 15, 21,000 supporters are said to populate the English national shrine.

Tuchel had taken Kai Havertz out of the starting eleven compared to the semi-finals in the Champions League, Werner and Rüdiger played from the start. Pep Guardiola rotated eight players at ManCity compared to the 2-1 at Borussia Dortmund on the team, including Gündogan, who was only substituted after an hour.
