Super League: US bank JPMorgan confirmed as donor

The US investment bank JPMorgan is the sponsor of the newly created Super League. The company, based in New York, confirmed this on Monday. “I can confirm that we are funding the deal,” a bank spokesman told the French news agency AFPwithout giving details of the spectacular deal.

Twelve top European clubs have come together in the super league. According to the founding declaration, the participants will receive “an amount of 3.5 billion euros, which is intended exclusively for the development of their infrastructure and to cushion the effects of the COVID pandemic”.

The founding of the Super League triggered an earthquake in international football. The clubs from Spain, England and Italy are on a course of confrontation with UEFA, which threatens to ban the participating clubs and players.
