With third place, SK Sturm has fixed a group stage in the European Cup in the 2021/2022 season. Squad planning can start accordingly early. Sturm sports director Andreas Schicker is hoping for a contract extension from playmaker Otar Kiteishvili.
In the summer of 2018, the Georgian moved from Dinamo Tiflis to Graz for a rumored 760,000 euros. Since then, the international has played 96 games for Sturm, scored 18 goals and provided 17 assists. The 25-year-old’s contract will expire in the summer of 2022 – so Sturm will probably have to extend or sell.
However, a contract extension always involves two parties. Sturm sports director Andreas Schicker has already submitted a new draft contract to Kiteishvili and is now hoping for a signature. “We try very hard, the conversation with the consultants was good. Otar is also grateful to Sturm and he is aware that Sturm paid a comparatively high transfer fee for him at the time,” says Schicker zur APA.
Central defender David Nemeth should also be kept. The loan player is returning to Mainz 05 for the time being. The Bundesliga club should be convinced at a meeting on Monday to loan Nemeth to Sturm again. In addition, Schicker Lieferings once again describes Alexander Prass as a “very exciting player”, but there are “others” too.
Schicker also keeps an eye on the striker market. Manprit Sarkaria, who collected 21 scorer points for a weak Austria and Martin Krienzer from Lafnitz return, but Bekim Balaj and Kevin Friesenbichler have already said goodbye: “We keep our eyes open. But if we do something, it will be more in the second half of the Transfer time. “
