After a strong sporting spring in the 2nd league, the planning for the coming season at SK Rapid II is in full swing. On Tuesday, some of the greatest talents from the U15 and U16 academy team decided to want to stay in the west of Vienna in the future.
Now positive news can also be reported from the second team from Hütteldorf. Fabian Eggenfellner and Almer Softic, who have already played many minutes in Austria’s second-highest division this season, are extending their expiring contracts by two and three years respectively.
An extension of the expiring contracts with offensive player Tobias Hedl and the captain of the U18 academy team Tunahan Mercan, whose future should be in the team of head coach Franz Maresch, was also achieved.
The sporting director of Rapid II, academy and offspring Willi Schuldes is pleased about the extension of both personalities: “Fabian has developed well in this second division season at Rapid II and has taken the right steps forward. He played almost everything this year and has always been able to convince. We are happy to be able to tie him to our club for another two years. We are really satisfied with Almer’s development in the last few months, so it was clear to us that we wanted to continue working with him in the future. It is nice to have such a creative and technically good one Player who has played at SK Rapid all his life. “
