Giuseppe Iachini, who has coached former Bayern star Franck Ribery at Fiorentina since March, will leave the club after the season. Iachini will sit on the bench for the last time on Saturday in the game against the southern Italian club FC Crotone.
“I wish you the best of luck and a successful future,” said Iachini in a letter to the club where he inherited Cesare Prandelli in March. He had “achieved all goals, despite great difficulties, among other things because of the pandemic, because of which we have to go without our fans”.
It will also be the last appearance for Iachini’s opposite Serse Cosmi after Crotone missed relegation. “I have no regrets, this experience has given me a lot,” said Cosmi.
Florence is in 13th place in the table with 39 points. It is still unclear whether Franck Ribery will leave the club, with which he has been under contract since 2019, at the end of the season.
