The SCR Altach has agreed with sports director Christian Möckel not to extend the contract that expires at the end of the 2020/21 season.
The 47-year-old German took office in November 2019 and signed a contract for a year and a half. Möckel drew attention to himself with prominent commitments such as Sidney Sam or Neven Subotic.
After detailed discussions about the future sporting direction, the decision was made not to strive for any further cooperation. Möckel will remain in his position until the end of his contract and will ensure an orderly handover.
“There were different expectations and ideas about the direction of the club, which ultimately proved to be irreconcilable. We will therefore go our separate ways after the season. Until then, we have to focus and put all our energy into the remaining ten play-off games “says Möckel about his departure.
Managing Director Christoph Längle also said: “Unfortunately, in the last few months, working with Christian, it has become more and more clear that the expectations could not be met in this way. With a view to the future, we came to the joint decision that they will part ways after a year and a half. I thank Christian for his commitment and wish him all the best for the future. “
