Red Bull Salzburg appalled by Super League: “There are no limits to greed”

The announced Super League also causes horror in Austria. After harsh criticism from SK Rapid, series champion Red Bull Salzburg also joins the Hütteldorfer.

Twelve European top clubs have decided to found a Super League and triggered an earthquake in international football.

The founding members are the English clubs Liverpool FC, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal FC and Chelsea FC, the top Spanish teams Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as well as Juventus Turin, AC Milan and Inter Milan from Italy .

The way for smaller clubs to the concert of the big ones would be blocked with a Super League. Accordingly, Austria’s Champions League participant Red Bull Salzburg is horrified.

“There are no limits to greed,” says managing director Stephan Reiter zum default. In times like these, solidarity must be in the foreground so that “European club football continues to function”. Now perhaps there would be the opportunity to “evade the dictates of the big clubs” – they would be “only about the money”.
