Basketball player Luka doncic and the rally driver Carlos Sainz have been named “honorary members” of the Real Madrid, the highest distinction of the white club, after the decision adopted this Tuesday by its board of directors.
“Real Madrid wants to show public recognition of the careers of these great leaders in world sport and examples of our values, which also show their Madridismo and their passion for our club every day”, indicated the entity merengue.
Carlos Sainz, renowned Madridista, is two-time world rally champion, triple winner of the Dakar rally and in 2020 he was awarded the Princess of Asturias Award for Sports. At 58, he is still active, demonstrating his status as a legend in national sports.
For his part, Luka Doncic -player of Dallas mavericks– is one of the great players of the NBA and world basketball, trained in the Real Madrid quarry. He came to the club at the age of 13, and contributed to winning 7 titles in 216 games: 1 Euroleague, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 3 Leagues and 2 King’s Cups.
