Real Madrid: Reportedly no interest in Cristiano Ronaldo’s return

After Juventus Turin knocked out the last 16 in the Champions League, rumors circulated that Cristiano Ronaldo could leave the old lady and return to Real Madrid. But allegedly the Spaniards are not interested in a CR7 return campaign.

This is reported by Fermin de la Calle from Eurosport with reference to sources close to the association. On the one hand, Real President Florentino Perez favor a transfer of PSG star striker Kylian Mbappe, on the other hand, Ronaldo’s salary speaks against a move to the Spanish capital.

At Juve, Ronaldo reportedly earns around 64 million euros a year. A sum that Real obviously cannot and does not want to afford. De la Calle also cites the tense relationship between Perez and Ronaldo as another reason against a move.

The 36-year-old has a contract with the Italian champions until 2022, but after losing the Champions League last 16 against FC Porto, the offensive man was heavily criticized. Rumors then began of a possible Ronaldo return to Madrid.

Even Real coach Zinedine Zidane did not categorically rule out a change from CR7. The Portuguese was already active with the royal team from 2009 to 2018, with Madrid he won the Champions League four times and the Spanish championship and the Spanish Cup twice.
