The imminent departure of coach Julian Nagelsmann could allegedly shake an already decided transfer for the coming summer at RB Leipzig: Like the Dutch magazine Voetbal International reported, there is apparently at Ajax Amsterdam’s talent Brian Brobbey the will to terminate the contract, which runs until 2025.
The background is said to be a great dissatisfaction among the 19-year-old about Nagelsmann’s departure. The head coach inherits Hansi Flick at FC Bayern in the summer, the record champions are reportedly buying Nagelsmann for a transfer fee of more than 20 million euros from his contract. Apparently Nagelsmann was one of the main reasons why Brobbey chose Leipzig in the first place.
In the press release on the move in mid-March, the striker was quoted as saying: “Julian Nagelsmann is a young and very good coach from whom I can still learn a lot.”
The topic also seems to occupy the club officials at Ajax and RB. The Dutch record champions are obviously hoping to be able to hold Brobbey after all. “I would like that, yes. I spoke to Marc (Overmars, Ajax sports director) who is working on it,” said Ajax coach Erik ten Hag from Voetbal International quoted.
He added: “He just signed there. I don’t know whether that is possible. He’s not even there yet and I don’t know exactly whether Leipzig is open to this.”
Nagelsmann’s successor as Leipzig coach will be the American Jesse Marsch.
