Rapid legend Zlatko Kranjcar died at the age of 64

SK Rapid mourns club legend Zlatko Kranjcar. “Zizo” died unexpectedly and after a short, serious illness at the age of 65 in his home town of Zagreb.

Kranjcar came to SK Rapid from his parent club Dinamo Zagreb in January 1984 and was a key part of the successful green and white selection of the 80s.

Two championship titles (1987, 88), three ÖFB Cup victories (1984, 85, 87) and the entry into the European Cup final in 1985 are just as impressive evidence of this as his 132 competitive goals, which he scored in 269 competition games for green and white.

“Zizo”, born on November 15, 1956, is still the most accurate legionnaire in the long history of the SK Rapid.

After leaving SK Rapid, Kranjcar kicked for VSE St. Pölten and Wienerfeld and then started a successful coaching career. His most prominent positions include the Croatian national team and Dinamo Zagreb.
