Raphael Varane (28) could leave Real Madrid in the summer. The Frenchman’s contract ends in 2022, so far negotiations about a contract extension have been unsuccessful. That reports the Mundo Deportivo.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Varane could subsequently leave Real Madrid after ten years. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are considered interested parties. However, Chelsea should have the best chance of signing the world champions. Accordingly, the Blues are ready to pay the 70 million euros for Varane, which Real has announced.
Real could use the money well to implement club boss Florentino Perez’s dream: signing PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe. It is unclear whether the Varane switch will actually work. As early as 2019, he was toying with a farewell to Madrid. Ultimately, however, there was a change. Now this scenario could repeat itself.
Because the future of Sergio Ramos is also unclear. The 35-year-old’s contract expires this summer. According to media reports, the Real captain has rejected his offer for a contract extension.
It is questionable whether Real would let their center-back duo go. If Ramos and Varane leave Los Blancos, the defense center could consist of David Alaba, whose move is not yet fixed, and Eder Militao.
