Midfielder Rani Khedira is moving from FC Augsburg to Union Berlin for the new season in the Bundesliga. The 27-year-old comes to Köpenick on a free transfer, Union Berlin made no information about the length of the contract period.
Brother and Rio world champion Sami Khedira (34) also moved to Berlin at the beginning of the year, but to city rivals Hertha BSC.
“Rani Khedira is a very experienced Bundesliga professional in his prime,” said Union Berlin manager Oliver Ruhnert about the transfer: “We are just as convinced of his footballing skills as he is of his personality.”
Rani Khedira made his Bundesliga debut for VfB Stuttgart in 2013 and has so far played 136 games in the upper house.
