If you believe media reports in Germany, Red Bull Salzburg has found a successor for Andre Ramalho: Nico Schlotterbeck is to switch from SC Freiburg to the Bulls.
While Salzburg veteran Andre Ramalho is about to move to PSV Eindhoven, a successor could already be found: Like him Kicker reports, Salzburg ensnares Nico Schlotterbeck from SC Freiburg.
The 21-year-old played on loan from Union Berlin last season and played 16 Bundesliga games in the defense center after his thigh injury. In addition, the 191-centimeter defender can look back on ten games for Germany’s U21 national team.
Schlotterbeck’s contract in Freiburg only runs until the summer of 2022. A commitment should cost Salzburg around eight million euros. It would be Salzburg’s second major defense investment: Kamil Piatkowski is coming from Rakow for around five million euros.
Schlotterbeck is going to the U21 finals with Germany in Slovenia and Hungary, where he will meet the two Salzburg kickers Mergim Berisha and Karim Adeyemi. VfB Stuttgart is also said to be interested in Schlotterbeck.
