PSG put pressure on Lille – Volland and Monaco remain third

Excitement until the last matchday in Ligue 1: Paris St. Germain can continue to hope for another title win. The star ensemble from the capital won against Stade Reims 4-0 (2-0) on Sunday evening and benefited from the slip of the front runner OSC Lille. The team from Flanders did not get past AS Saint-Etienne past 0-0.

Before the last matchday, the two teams are separated by only one point. Paris then has to compete in relegation candidate Stade Brest, Lille travels to SCO Angers, who are already safe in relegation.

Paris played against Reims in the majority from the 10th minute. Defender Yunis Abdelhamid saw red after clearing the ball with his hand. Neymar (13th) converted the penalty, a little later the second superstar also met: Kylian Mbappe (24th) benefited from a dropout in the guest defense. Marquinhos (68th) and Moise Kean (89th) made the final score.

Behind Lille (80 points) and Paris (79), ex-international Kevin Volland is still on course for Champions League qualification with AS Monaco (77). Niko Kovac’s team won against Stade Rennes 2-1 (2-0) and defended their important third place. Fourth place only entitles them to start in the Europa League, which is still held by Olympique Lyon (76).
