Jonathan Barnett, a consultant to Gareth Bale, interviewed SPOX and goal reveal that his client currently on loan from Tottenham Hotspur still has great sympathy for Real Madrid – although coach Zinedine Zidane may not be interested in a return campaign.
“He still loves Madrid,” said Barnett. “He has no problems with the club, it’s a wonderful club. Coming back would not be a problem for him. You just have to decide if you need him, if he can play for Madrid.”
Bale has been on loan at Spurs since the beginning of this season after failing to go beyond the role of a substitute player in the Spanish capital. According to the 71-year-old, you have to “ask Mr. Zidane if he still wants him. But I don’t think so.”
Bale’s contract with Los Blancos runs until 2022 – and the 31-year-old Welshman has not been the hoped-for reinforcement for Tottenham either. However, the consultant does not want to know about problems with coach Jose Mourinho, who last criticized Bale for an Instagram post.
“They have a good relationship, there is no problem,” said Barnett. “The journalists create a problem where there is none. We expected him to play more often. Things weren’t going so well, but things weren’t going so well for the team either.”
