14 Premier League clubs condemned the British Big Six’s Super League plans at an emergency meeting on Tuesday. “The plans are unanimously and sharply rejected,” said Greimum in the afternoon. Representatives of the FA had also attended the meeting.
“The Premier League is examining all means available to prevent progress,” it said. In close cooperation with fan groups, the government and the UEFA the “interests of the game” would have to be protected.
The 14 clubs called on Liverpool FC, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal FC, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea FC to withdraw their pledges.
