After the cancellation of 1. FC Köln, Noch Austria coach Peter Stöger has found a new club for the coming season: The Austrian is apparently taking over the traditional Hungarian club Ferencvaros Budapest.
How sportsbusiness.at reports, the Viennese are already in final negotiations with the Hungarians, the signature should take place soon. Stöger’s advisor Max Hagmayr was most recently in Budapest.
Stöger was already asked about the subject by Sky on Tuesday evening – but the Austria coach declined: “This is the wrong time to talk about this. It will be exciting from the end of May, before that we have a lot to do.”
The green-whites finished the Hungarian league 20 points ahead of Puskas AFC as the dominant champions.
Previously, Stöger canceled his ex-club 1. FC Köln. “I had good conversations with Horst Heldt and Alex Wehrle, which were characterized by mutual trust. FC is a club that still means a lot to me and is very attractive. But in the end we were of the opinion that we should return at this point in time is not the right decision, “said Stöger Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.
