Kylian Mbappe shot Paris St. Germain to the top of the Ligue 1 table for at least one night with his next brace. The world champion scored his number 24 and 25 goals of the season in the 3-1 (1-0) away win of the Champions League semi-finalist against FC Metz, but had to be replaced shortly before the end of the game.
With 72 points, defending champion PSG is again ahead of rival OSC Lille (70) in Ligue 1, but they can overtake them on Sunday with a victory in the top game at Olympique Lyon (9 p.m.).
With Thilo Kehrer, but without Julian Draxler in the starting eleven, PSG took the lead in the 4th minute through Mbappe. Fabien Centonze (46th) equalized immediately after the break, but again Mbappe (59th) restored the old gap. The 22-year-old had already scored a brace in a 3-2 draw against St. Etienne last weekend. Mauro Icardi (89th, foul penalty) set the end point.
Because Mbappe had to be replaced with a bandage on his thigh shortly before the end of the game, there are also worries at Paris before the semi-final first leg of the Champions League against Manchester City on Wednesday. Draxler was on a brief assignment for Mbappe.
