Stade Malherbe de Caen announced that they had separated from their coach Pascal Dupraz on Tuesday March 23. Plagued by a series of bad results, the one who arrived in Normandy in 2019 was forced to leave his post only three months before the end of his contract.
Pascal Dupraz and the Stade Malherbe de Caen, it’s over. Through a press release published on its site, the Norman club has decided to end its collaboration with the current coach. The leaders have nevertheless praised the involvement of the Savoyard since his arrival in 2019.
“Pascal Dupraz has never ceased to put all his energy and passion into his work for the club under difficult circumstances. We will of course remember the good times we shared. We wish him the best for his future ”, indicates the press release.
In this press release, we can also read that this decision has been taken, “After a thorough analysis of [la] sporting situation. ” Indeed, the club is currently in a particularly delicate position. With only 2 wins in the last 19 Ligue 2 games, the Caennais are sailing in 14th place, five points behind Guingamp, 18th.
Since joining the club in October 2019, Pascal Dupraz has never managed to launch Stade Malherbe on the path to good results. Already threatened last summer after a 13th final place in L2, the coach was this time sacked only 3 months before the end of his contract and especially a few days away from a game of the utmost importance against Pau who , in case of defeat, could put Caen in great difficulty.
