Paris Saint-Germain is said to have offered Julian Draxler (27) an extension of his working paper, which expires at the end of the season. That reports L’Equipe.
The offer should be an extension of one year. In the event of a signature, Draxler would be under contract with the French until 2022. Most recently, Draxler was expected to leave, so this would be a turnaround.
In the current season Draxler has made 21 appearances in Ligue 1 (4 goals, 2 assists), in the Champions League and in the Cup, he made four games each. In the premier class he was twice in the starting line-up against Bayern in the quarter-finals, against Manchester City (1: 2) he only sat on the bench in the semi-final first leg on Wednesday.
Draxler himself had recently left his future open. “That will be seen. My contract is running out,” he said after the 3-2 win in the first leg against Bayern, and “we will see what happens at a later date.” He has been under contract with PSG since 2017, but recently lost his place in the national team due to a lack of playing time and could also miss the EM in the summer.
