HSV mourns the loss of the former chairman of the supervisory board, Rieckhoff

Hamburger SV mourns Ernst-Otto Rieckhoff. The former chairman of the supervisory board of the second division club died on Saturday after a serious illness at the age of 69. The HSV announced on Sunday.

Rieckhoff, with the club since 1966, was treasurer from 1988 to 1990. From 2005 he was a member of the HSV supervisory board for almost eight years, which he headed as chairman from January 2011 to May 2012.

Rieckhoff was the driving force behind the HSVPlus structural reform, with which the professional department was spun off into HSV Fußball AG in 2014.

HSV has thus lost four great personalities within a very short time. Most recently, the former club president Peter Krohn, master player Erwin Piechowiak and the former goalkeeper Arkoc Özcan died.
