President Werner Gegenbauer of Hertha BSC expects the engagement of sports director Fredi Bobic to be a groundbreaking change. “There will be a total change,” said Gegenbauer Sports picture.
Bobic was the “preferred candidate of the entire club”. “The first measures will be seen when Fredi Bobic starts at Hertha,” said Gegenbauer.
Bobic, who is moving from Eintracht Frankfurt to the Berliners, wanted “regardless of the league affiliation with Hertha”. Under the leadership of the former goalscorer, Hertha BSC should finally succeed in turning things around for the better.
Gegenbauer has a clear vision for the club. Hertha is said to be “a modern club, a modern company with a modern management structure. With optimal sporting success, because it largely determines everything else,” said the 70-year-old: “We want to be a club that is also much more than just football , be a solid foundation of the Berlin and Brandenburg community. ” In addition, they want to show fairness, sportiness and respect to the outside world.
The Berliners are threatened with falling into the second division. Coach Pal Dardai’s team is currently in 17th place, but has played three games fewer than the competition due to a corona quarantine. The club is “prepared” for the worst case, so Gegenbauer: “The challenges would certainly not be easier to master. But we know what we are doing.”
