Harassing McCann Family Over Madeleine Claims
A Polish woman named Julia has been accused of repeatedly harassing the family of missing child Madeleine McCann, in a case that has shocked the public and caused severe distress to the McCann family.
According to prosecutor Rainda Darrick, Julia allegedly began making persistent contact with the McCanns in 2022. Over time, this behavior intensified and became increasingly concerning. Authorities say Julia not only showed up uninvited at the McCanns’ residence on two occasions but also attended the annual vigil held in Leicester to honor Madeleine’s memory.
In a series of troubling actions, Julia reportedly attempted to contact Madeleine’s siblings, Amelie and Sean, through Instagram. Prosecutors say she even created a WhatsApp group that included Kate McCann’s phone number, using it to send direct and indirect messages claiming she was the couple’s missing daughter.

Despite being officially warned by the Metropolitan Police in June 2023 to cease all contact with the McCann family, Julia allegedly continued her efforts. Reports state she hand-delivered a letter to their Leicester address, left voicemails, and maintained her attempts to reach out online, leading to what authorities describe as an escalation in stalking behavior.
Prosecutors say the family has been left “extremely distressed” by the ongoing harassment.
While the case has reignited public debate around the Madeleine McCann investigation, authorities continue to treat Julia’s claims with caution. Many online continue to express personal theories about what happened to Madeleine, with some doubting existing suspects and others holding out hope she may still be alive.
The McCann family has not publicly commented on the latest developments, and the case remains under review.
