The former successful coach Felix Magath has surprisingly ended his engagement with Austria’s Bundesliga bottom Admira Wacker. The 67-year-old justified the step with the difficult situation as a result of the corona pandemic. As head of football for the Flyeralarm company, Magath was responsible for Admira in addition to the second division Würzburger Kickers. Magath will remain with the Franks.
Because of the corona restrictions, after taking office in January 2020, it “became more and more difficult to successfully implement the agenda that had actually been set,” said Magath: “Especially for me, who watch, watch and, above all, be a lot of games and players for Admira Network, this was simply not as possible as intended due to Corona. “
With only three wins from 22 games, Admira, which is now officially called “FC Flyeralarm Admira”, is currently in last place in the Bundesliga. “During the winter break, the entire club fulfilled all our coach, Damir Buric’s wishes for the spring round. I am firmly convinced that our current team will again achieve the goal of staying up,” said Magath.
There are also two German professionals in the Admira’s squad in the former U21 national player Matthias Ostrzolek and Maximilian Breunig.
