Substitute goalkeeper Alexander Nübel wants to put an end to his unsatisfactory situation at Bayern Munich and leave the record champions on loan after the end of the season.
“We continue to pursue the issue of Alex being loaned out,” said Nübels advisor Stefan Backs kicker: “Alex needs regular match practice, a few appearances are not enough.”
Nübel can’t get past national team captain Manuel Neuer in Munich and has only played three games for Bayern since moving from Schalke 04 to Isar last summer. The contract of the 24-year-old runs until 2025. According to kicker, the French first division club AS Monaco is interested in Nübel, most recently, according to Sport1 information, BVB was also considered a potential Nübel buyer.
In Backs’ opinion, Nübel’s current situation is also bad for FCB. Should Nübel not play regularly for another club in the coming season, “then Alex will no longer be number 1 at FC Bayern. And then FC Bayern will have none of it.”
Backs avoided a reproach to coach Hansi Flick in view of Nübel’s short playing times: “Flick has a clear line and success with it, so there is nothing to be said against it.” At the time Nübel switched to FCB, the reported Sports picture and Sport1 in agreement that the 24-year-old was assured in writing of a certain number of assignments. Neuer then emphasized that he was “not an extra, but a protagonist”.
