Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of the board of directors of FC Bayern Munich, will play a key role in mediating between UEFA President Alexander Ceferin and the Super League initiators.
“I am known to be a man of dialogue and not of war,” Rummenigge told the Italian daily Tuttosport. “That is why UEFA President Ceferin asked me to help him solve the problems and restart after very difficult days for the football world.”
Rummenigge took over the position of Juventus Turin President Andrea Agnelli on the UEFA Executive Committee on Tuesday, who was responsible for driving the Super League plans. “We will wait for the water to calm down and then concentrate on the dialogue. President Ceferin has reaffirmed to me over the past few hours that he has no intention of slamming the doors on anyone,” said Rummenigge.
