FC Bayern Munich was apparently interested in the services of coach Jose Mourinho “a few years ago”. That revealed the former FCB professional Michael Ballack in picture-Podcast “Bayern-Insider”.
“I don’t know how close it was back then and how far the talks were,” explained Ballack. According to the 44-year-old, Mourinho had “at least once learned German at university. I know that from him”.
Ballack’s ex-coach at Chelsea FC is “very dogged” when he is preparing for a new possible job. “The national language is of course an issue, which is also important to FC Bayern. Communication is the be-all and end-all,” said Ballack, adding: “I think that used to be an issue, today it isn’t.”
Mourinho had often been associated with FC Bayern Munich in the past, but has not yet been involved in Germany.
The Portuguese is currently preparing for his new role in Serie A. After Tottenham Hotspur kicked him out in the second half of the season, The Special One signed a three-year contract with AS Roma in the summer.
