National coach Joachim Löw is apparently still very popular with his ex-club Fenerbahce Istanbul. According to information from the Fanatik newspaper, club president Ali Koc would like to bring Löw back to the Bosporus after the EM to secure his own re-election on June 6th.
Should Löw, who had trained Fenerbahce in the 1998/99 season, not be available, interim coach Emre Belözoglu would receive the post.
Löw could meet world champion Mesut Özil at Fenerbahce, who has a contract in Istanbul until 2024. Also the daily newspaper Posta reported an interest in Löw on Friday.
“The Fenerbahce board would like to work with a strong coach next season and the first candidate is Löw,” wrote the newspaper. There have even been initial conversations.
