Former Bayern star Rafinha is continuing his career in his Brazilian homeland. The 35-year-old signed with the first division club Gremio Porto Alegre until the end of the year after ending his five-month interlude with Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus early in February.
In Porto Alegre, Rafinha meets the ex-Cologne-born Pedro Geromel, among others.
The right-back celebrated seven championship titles and four cup wins at FC Bayern, and in 2013 he also won the Champions League and the Club World Cup. Rafinha started his career in Europe in 2005 at Schalke 04. After Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s commitment to Schalke in winter, there was speculation that Rafinha would return to Royal Blue.
