Stéphanie Frappart is one of the referees selected to officiate at Euro 2020, a first for a woman.
UEFA unveiled on Wednesday April 21 the list of the 18 main referees who will officiate at the next Euro (June 11 to July 11). Among the men in black, including the French Clément Turpin, is a woman: Stéphanie Frappart. She becomes the first woman to officiate at a European championship.
First woman to referee a Ligue 1, Men’s Champions League, official match between men’s teams… Stéphanie Frappart is now selected to officiate at Euro 2020, a first for a woman in a European men’s championship. She will fulfill the role of fourth referee.
Stéphanie Frappart is used to international competitions. She has already led several Nations League, Women’s World Cup, and Women’s Euro matches.
Other French people will be on the whistle during Euro 2020. Among the central referees, Clément Turpin was selected, assisted by Nicolas Danos and Cyril Gringore. Jérôme Brisard, François Letexier and Benjamin Pages will officiate at the video arbitration.
