Sports director Bruno Hübner is leaving Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of the season. The contract of the 60-year-old, who worked ten years for Hessen, expires on June 30th and, as expected, will not be extended.
It is still open who will succeed Huebner. When he extended his contract in 2018, Hübner had already envisaged his departure this summer.
“At that time I had talked to Fredi Bobic about the future and we consciously agreed on this contract term. When I was 60, I wanted to cut things short,” said Hübner: “For the club, a change in this position after such a long time certainly makes sense. In the past few months it has become increasingly clear that this is the best and right solution for both sides. “
Sports director Bobic paid tribute to the outgoing sports director’s performance. “Bruno Hübner has shaped Eintracht with his work over the past decade,” said the ex-international: “Bruno will remain friendly to Eintracht in the future and is always a welcome guest.”
