Adi Hütter has come under strong criticism after Eintracht Frankfurt’s 1-1 draw against 1. FSV Mainz 05 (the highlights in the video). Even a premature retirement of Hütter as an SGE trainer does not seem to be ruled out.
“I don’t want to speak of a disappointment. It’s not the coach, it’s not the team,” Hütter tried to explain his team’s draw after the game. “Maybe we played beyond our means,” continued Hütter.
Shortly afterwards, Hütter’s statements caused outrage in social networks, where fans were not very sympathetic to the coach’s statements. According to information from hessenschau-Reporter Carsten Schellhorn, these should also be an internal topic for the Frankfurters.
Also the kicker reports that the discussions about Hütter continued to fuel after the disappointing draw of Eintracht. Accordingly, the 51-year-old has lost a lot of authority.
A dismissal of Hütters is not an issue due to the 7.5 million euro transfer fee that Frankfurt can pocket from Borussia Mönchengladbach at the end of the season. An exemption for the Austrian would, however, be possible.
