Dragoslav Stepanovic sends hope in Corona times: “Lebbe goes weider”

Former Bundesliga coach Dragoslav Stepanovic (72) spreads hope in difficult Corona times for Easter. “Lebbe goes weider: This is Easter for me” is the key message of a video that the former Frankfurt coach produced in cooperation with the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau (EKHN).

In the 60-second spot, the Serbian Orthodox Christian retells the biblical resurrection story. It is framed with his catchy phrase “Lebbe geht weider”, which Stepanovic coined during his coaching career.

Stepanovic wants to help set a hopeful sign in the pandemic. Congregations should be able to incorporate the film into video church services at Easter.

With Eintracht Frankfurt, the native Serb almost won the championship in 1992, but the Hessians lost at Hansa Rostock on the last day of the match and ultimately only finished third. Then “Stepis” uttered the legendary saying with which he will remain forever connected: “Lebbe goes weider!”
