Fritz Keller will provide his office as President of the German Football Association (DFB) after the hearing before the DFB Sports Court next Monday.
The DFB announced on Tuesday evening. General Secretary Friedrich Curtius will immediately follow Keller “after an agreement about the termination of his employment contract”.
Keller had decided to take the step “of his own free choice and responsibility of the office as president,” it said. The Vice-Presidents Rainer Koch and Peter Peters will remain in office until the next new elections, but Koch will no longer run for the office of first Amateure Vice-President at the next Ordinary Bundestag.
Stephan Osnabrügge will also no longer run as treasurer. The next Ordinary Bundestag will be brought forward – probably at the beginning of 2022.
