De Boer on Arnautovic: “Could have made more of his talent”

On June 17th, the ÖFB team will meet EM group opponents Netherlands in Amsterdam. Bondscoach Frank de Boer speaks beforehand about the selection of Franco Foda.

During a press conference, Netherlands head coach Frank de Boer warned of the Austrian national team.

“The Austrians deserve to participate in the European Championship. They are a good team, practically all of the squad play in the German Bundesliga, so in a very good league,” explains the former Ajax and Inter coach, who is a player at Ajax and made Barca a legend.

De Boer praised David Alaba and the Austrian collective. The 50-year-old also had words for China legionnaire Marko Arnautovic: “He’s a fantastic player, but with ups and downs,” said De Boer, who identifies a resemblance to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“He’s also strong, tall, fast, has good technique and can score goals. But then you think, ‘Hey, why don’t you show that in every match?’ He could have made more of his talent, but it’s his career. If he’s happy with it, it’s good. ” Nevertheless, Arnautovic is a “great player”.
