Cruciate ligament tear: VfB Stuttgart without Silas Wamangituka for months

Heavy blow for Silas Wamangituka and VfB Stuttgart: The 21-year-old attacking player suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee in the Südschlager at Bayern Munich (0: 4) and is out for several months. The Swabians announced this on Sunday after an in-depth investigation.

Wamangituka suffered the serious injury in a running duel with David Alaba from Munich (31st). After a short treatment he had to be replaced (35th).

“We’re worried about him,” said sports director Sven Mislintat with a vague foreboding immediately after the game. CEO Thomas Hitzlsperger emphasized the great importance of Wamangituka for the newcomer: “Silas helps us extremely, he is a very valuable player, we need him very much.”

The Congolese is one of the shooting stars of the season. In 25 Bundesliga games he scored eleven goals and prepared four. There are also two appearances in the DFB Cup, in which he scored once.
