BVB transfers: “Gentlemen’s agreement” only with Sancho and not with Haaland – Terzic future “clearly discussed”

BVB sports director Michael Zorc has confirmed that Jadon Sancho is allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund “under certain conditions”. The case is different with Erling Haaland, who is also heavily courted.

“We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can change under certain conditions. He’s been with us for a few years,” said Zorc in the ARD when asked about possible differences in the willingness to give up Sancho and Haaland in the coming summer: “At Erling there is no such agreement.”

Sancho was increasingly associated with a move to England to Manchester United last summer, but a transfer failed because the Red Devils did not want to pay the transfer fee of allegedly 130 million euros demanded by BVB.

“In the end, the requirements were not met last summer,” explained Zorc. Sancho came to BVB from Manchester City in 2017 for eight million euros and quickly established himself there as a regular on the offensive flanks.

Especially due to his outstanding 2019/20 season, in which he shone with 20 goals and 20 assists, Sancho played on the slips of numerous top clubs. Nevertheless, he extended his contract with BVB last summer until 2023. This summer, a farewell to the English international is likely.

BVB remains tough at Haaland despite Raiola’s saber rattling

Most recently, Mino Raiola, advisor to the Norwegian, increased the pressure on the Dortmund club management by doubting the sense of the move from Haaland to Dortmund, which took place in 2020, while traveling with Haaland’s father Alf-Inge to Real Madrid and FC Barcelona during the international break and now even emphasized again that “all 14 big clubs” “want” the 20-year-old exceptional striker.

BVB clearly ruled out a sale of Haaland, which is said to be particularly popular with Real Madrid, this summer. “The fact is: nothing works without our signature. We plan with him, regardless of whether we qualify for the Champions League or not,” Zorc emphasized in mid-April. According to media reports, the exit clause implemented in Haaland’s contract, which runs until 2024, will not be able to be drawn until the summer of 2022. Then Haaland could leave the club for 75 million euros.

However, Raiola did not rule out a change of opinion among the Black and Yellows: “Let’s wait and see if they see it that way by September 1st. I think if there is a good possibility that makes everyone happy, we will discuss it. “

Zorc also wants to discuss a possible departure from current coach Edin Terzic, should he wish to do so in the coming summer. “If he comes up to us and has other plans, we will talk to each other. It should be like that. But I don’t see that at the moment,” said Zorc.
