BVB striker Erling Haaland has been named player of the season in the Bundesliga. In the election for the “Team of the Season” organized by the Bundesliga and game manufacturer EA Sports, the 20-year-old received the most votes from the fans.
Robert Lewandowski from FC Bayern Munich was left empty-handed despite the record season. The Pole set a new record with 41 goals this season, after equalizing Gerd Müller’s 40-goal mark against SC Freiburg.
In the past season Haaland scored a whopping 27 goals for the black and yellow in 28 appearances and contributed eight assists. Across all competitions, the DFB Cup winner even scored 41 goals in as many competitive games (twelve assists).
