BVB veteran Lukasz Piszczek has confirmed his move to an amateur club, but denied any signs of physical wear and tear. He was praised for his current condition by his trainer Edin Terzic. While Borussia Dortmund has probably considered a new number one, Michael Zorc and Terzic defended the former number one Roman Bürki. News and rumors about the black and yellow can be found here.

Lukasz Piszczek has once again confirmed that he will leave BVB in the summer and end his professional career at the same time. Last summer, he had already hinted at the end of his career and talked about mental problems. “There was a time when I felt burned. People see me on the pitch for 90 minutes. To perform well there, I have to do more than just be physically fit,” he said, revealing that he works with a sports psychologist.
The quote “You don’t know how broken I am”, with which he was quoted on the Bundesliga homepage, he rejected on Friday afternoon: “I read a sentence in the media that I said after the game against Union – but only to an acquaintance and in jest: “You can see how broken I am.” If you don’t know the context, you shouldn’t quote me either “, he wrote on Twitter. And further: “Don’t worry, I’m fine!”
In recent years, the 35-year-old has repeatedly suffered from muscular problems, but has been largely spared from major injuries.
BVB, News – Piszczek leaves BVB: “Don’t worry”
He sees his future at his ex-club, where he also wants to take care of youth training: “I will return to Poland and play for my old club LKS Goczałkowice for fun. It has nothing to do with professional football, I will myself just keep fit there. ” Vice-president of the club is Piszczek’s father: “I grew up here, this is where I developed into the man I am today, that’s why I wanted to give something back”.
The Pole has been playing in the Bundesliga for 14 years, first for Hertha BSC and since 2010 for BVB. He has already played 378 competitive games for Borussia (19 goals, 64 assists), twice with the black and yellow champions and cup winners and could crown the successful time with another triumph in the DFB Cup.
After Piszczek saw hardly any playing time for much of the season, the right-back was in demand again in previous games. He played through in the two wins in the Bundesliga against Union Berlin and Werder Bremen. He has now received praise from coach Edin Terzic for his current condition.
“In the last few months he had unfortunately had setbacks with minor injuries, which then threw him out of his rhythm. Now he looks very stable and he has trained very well,” said Terzic before the cup semi-final against Holstein Kiel on Saturday (from 8.30 p.m. in the live ticker).
Borussia Dortmund is reportedly one of those interested in goalkeeper Unai Simon from Athletic Bilbao. This is reported by the Spanish daily La Razon. According to this, BVB also has great competition with regard to a possible Simon transfer in the summer.
Arsenal FC in particular should watch the 23-year-old Spaniard very closely. In addition, it will be very difficult for Simon to leave Bilbao. After all, the six-time Spanish national goalkeeper, who was last number one at Furia Roja, only extended his contract to 2025 in August last year. You can find more information here.

Terzic also showed the utmost understanding and spoke of the “most difficult phase that Roman is likely to experience in his career. But he gives full throttle and tries to fight for his chance.” According to Zorc, however, Hitz had “shown very good performances in the last few games and radiated a lot of calm. It was not without reason that we played zero twice.”
