When looking for reinforcement for the defensive, BVB apparently found what they were looking for at FSV Mainz 05. As the picture reported that Borussia is dealing with a commitment from central defender Jeremiah St. Juste.
Accordingly, there have already been talks with the environment of the 24-year-old Dutchman, who can be used variably in defense. The Mainz-based company is said to be demanding 15 million euros for St. Juste, who is contractually bound to Rheinhessen until 2023 and has been appointed to the provisional EM squad of Elftal.
It is unclear whether BVB wants to raise this amount in view of the high losses caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Most recently, CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke had not ruled out a transfer standstill in terms of summer transfers. “It may be that nothing moves,” said the 61-year-old in the WAZ: “Then we’ll start the new season with the same team. And then we don’t have to tremble.”
Bayer Leverkusen, FC Brugge and Spartak Moscow are also named as interested parties for St. Juste. At first, St. Juste should not aim to say goodbye to the Bundesliga. In 2019 he came from Feyernoord Rotterdam for eight million euros and was an undisputed regular player in the past season (32 Bundesliga games, one template).
The Mainz sports director Christian Heidel had opposite the picture “Significant changes in the squad” have recently been announced, but at the same time it has been made clear: “The team is definitely not falling apart. We don’t have to sell any players. But what I have always said in the past applies: None is not for sale at Mainz 05 Player.”
