After two corona cases, training on Tuesday was canceled at Bundesliga relegated Schalke 04.
As the defeated bottom of the table announced, Monday’s PCR tests brought positive results for a player and a member of the function team. Both went into quarantine at home and, according to the association, are symptom-free.
The training session scheduled for Tuesday was canceled “as a precaution” and the team was sent home. All of Monday’s other tests were negative. Rapid tests on Tuesday also gave no further positive results. The results of a further series of PCR tests on Tuesday are expected on Wednesday, and further tests are to be carried out on Wednesday and Thursday. Only then should a decision be made whether and when training is to be restarted.
After the attacks by isolated fans on Schalke players after the 0-1 last week at Arminia Bielefeld, the club had given its professionals several days off from training. On Monday, the first training session after the sealed relegation took place in the Schalker Arena.
