Bundesliga: DFL terminates games until the end of the season – Sunday game on matchday 33 possible

There could be a novelty in the Bundesliga this season. As the DFL announced in the course of the scheduling of game days 29 to 34, on the penultimate game day there will probably be at least one game on Sunday and thus with a delay to all the others.

So far, the encounters on the 33rd match day have all taken place at the same time on Saturdays at 3:30 p.m.

The reason for the alternative date is the DFB Cup final scheduled for May 13th. Should the remaining Bundesliga clubs RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund or Werder Bremen play the final on Thursday, their respective game would be postponed to Sunday. In this way, the teams should be given more regeneration time in the end of the season.

The relegation games between the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga were held on May 26th (6:30 pm) and May 29th (6:00 pm / each DAZN). The duels between the 16th of the 2nd division and the third of the 3rd division will take place on May 27th (6.15pm) and May 30th (1.30pm / ZDF and DAZN) instead of.

League leaders Bayern Munich will play the last top game of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday evening on the 32nd matchday, three hours earlier RB Leipzig will play at Borussia Dortmund. The other two remaining games will be played on Saturday at 6.30 p.m. Bayer Leverkusen will play against 1. FC Köln on match day 29 and against Eintracht Frankfurt on match day 31.
